Member Program

For 25 weeks from May through October enjoy a fresh basket of locally produced, sustainably grown, delicious produce and pasture raised meats.  Each basket contains whatever is fresh and seasonal, harvested in the morning and available to you that same day.

Our CSA program is $32 a week and will contain fruits, fresh vegetables and a protein each week.  We try and balance the contents of our baskets so our customers can enjoy a variety of our farm offerings every week.

The baskets are seasonal, so the contents will change depending on what is available during each season.  For example, one spring week you could get a basket filled with a bag of arugula, some heads of broccoli, strawberries, green garlic, a collection of sturdy leafy greens (kale, spinach, chard or collards), a bag of lettuce (or salad mix), some snap peas, and a bunch of radishes and perhaps some beets and carrots.

During the summer months, you can expect heirloom and dry farmed early girl tomatoes, sweet and spicy peppers, eggplant, fresh green snap and shelling beans, sweet corn, melons, leafy greens, apples, pears, peaches, and plums. Here is a link to a chart for an idea about what is fresh and seasonal in our area throughout the year.  We will be posting our crop list of what you can expect from us soon, but this should give you an idea about what to expect.

Protein and Livestock

In addition to fruits and vegetables we will also be including eggs, chickens and pork in the baskets this year.  We will rotate between these three proteins depending on our availability.  This could include either a dozen eggs, a whole broiler chicken, or sausage or bacon.  All of our animals are raised on pasture and fed organic feed.

Our CSA runs for 25 weeks and is $32 dollars a week, or $800 for the season. That means you pay a little less than 5 dollars a day for fresh, delicious, organic meats and vegetables that should provide a family of four with some delicious eating for the week.

We know that it is difficult for some of our members to pay 800 up front for their membership for the season, but your payment is very important to us as a small local business and farm.  Our CSA members are directly responsible for providing us with capital that we need to get started every year; you help us buy the seeds we plant for you, the feed we give to our animals and equipment needed for the years harvest.

You provide us with the means to grow, create jobs and take care of our environment at the same time.  In return, we provide you with the nourishment that you need for your family.  You also have the peace of mind that we live and work in your community and are directly accountable to you. With your support, we are able to hire local people and buy from other local businesses that supply our farm with what we need.   In these difficult economic times with access of capital going only to companies that are too big to fail, you are keeping your local economy alive by acting as our bank and we hope to give you the best return on your investment that we can… Delicious, nutritious, organic food.

By becoming a member, you take true ownership of this seasons crops, and share in both in the bounty and risks inherent in farming.  This helps keep local agriculture alive, insures the farmer a fair, livable wage and allows us to continue to provide the community with healthy, sustainably grown food.  If you are absolutely unable to make this payment up front, we have several options available.  Please contact us for details.

Space is limited so please if you wish to participate, please sign up early.

The farm is located about 2 miles up Glen Haven Rd in Soquel. We are also considering having a drop off point in Soquel for pick ups. Hope this helps!

We only send out our weekly newsletter during our CSA season to our members to inform them of the happenings on the farm and the contents of their baskets. We will begin soon sending out more general emails to our list. If you would like to receive them, send me your email and I will put you on. Thanks!

Can you please tell me if there is a deadline for signing up for your produce box? I’m writing an article about local CSA options for Patch.com.

    Thank you!

      Hey there-
We don’t have a specific deadline but rather we take people until all of our spots are filled. We have 60 spaces available this year and they will go fast, so the earlier the better. Also please include that we offer meats and eggs that are included in the CSA price. thanks!
